We are the Nordic region’s most prominent photo marathon to take place on the streets of Stockholm again! We hope you are as excited as we are!

Important dates
Tickets: Sales are ongoing. Don’t forget to buy your ticket!
August 5-14: Pick up you bib-number and starter kit at Scandinavian Photo Vasagatan Stockholm until they close the store Friday.
August 15–16: Stockholm Fotomaraton.
September 12: Awards ceremony at the Stockholm City Museum (Stadsmuseet).
From September 12: Exhibition at the Stockholm City Museum (Stadsmuseet). All winners, theme winners, and participants will be on display. Please note: contact sheets cannot be picked up during the exhibition period. We’ll announce dates and location for contact sheet pickup later.
Get your startkit and bib-number
This year, you can check in and pick up all your participant materials at the Scandinavian Photo store on Vasagatan in Stockholm.
Perfect for those who want to avoid queuing at the start and just breeze into the City Museum—ready with your bib on your chest, camera at the ready, and pumped for 24 hours in Stockholm.
You will need your ticket to pick up your participant materials. Once your ticket has been scanned, you will receive your materials in a nice envelope with your starting number on it.
The start of Stockholm Fotomaraton
The start of Stockholm Fotomaraton 2026 starts from classic Fotomaraton ground – the Stockholm City Museum (Stadsmuseet)!
The start is continuous from 11:00 to 12:30. You must have collected your participant material no later than 12:30.
You can pick up your number bib at Stockholm City Museum from 10:00 AM on the start day, or between Wednesday, August 5, and Friday, August 14 at 12:00 PM at Scandinavian Photo, Vasagatan.
For those of you picking it up on the same day, it is important that you have collected your bib number before 12:30, and since there might be a queue, we recommend that you arrive well in advance.
Many of our partners will also be at the start location, often running contests, giveaways, and other fun activities.
Checkpoints
Every four hours, you must check in at a checkpoint to receive your next theme card. Each card includes four new themes for the next four hours and the code to unlock more info about the next checkpoint. You must arrive during the checkpoint’s opening hours.
Opening hours and locations:
- Start – 11:00-12:30 – Stockholm City Museum (Stadsmuseet)
- Checkpoint 2 – 15:00–17:00 – Location is a surprise, revealed at the start
- Checkpoint 3 / 8-hour finish – 19:00–21:00 – Stockholm City Museum
- Checkpoint 4 – 23:00–01:00 – Location is a surprise, revealed at checkpoint 3
- Checkpoint 5 – 03:00–05:00 – Generator Hostel. Discounted beds/rooms available – Read more here.
- Checkpoint 6 – 07:00–09:00 – Location is a surprise, revealed at checkpoint 5
- 24-hour finish – 11:00–13:00 – Stockholm City Museum
The finish line
The finish lines are located at the Stockholm City Museum.
At the finish, you’ll upload your images using our mobile upload tool. Make sure you know how to transfer photos from your camera to your phone/iPad/laptop in advance.
If you can’t upload your images yourself, we’ll help you at one of our upload stations. In that case, your memory card must only contain 8 or 24 JPEG photos, depending on your class – no more, no less.
You don’t need to transfer tickets
The only important thing is when you upload your pictures at the goal line, your name and the bib-number is in sync.
Additional memory card
A good tip is to bring an additional memory card to take pictures of your participation that are not the competition pictures. There will be times when you want to take a picture of something not in the competition. If you compete in the mobile class, ensure you have room for your pictures.
